During the 4th century in northern China, the Mujung (Bayan, Murong) Sibers (Hsienpei, Xianbei) produced an astonishing number of brilliant generals. The greatest was Mujung Pa (Ba), who led troops to victory in battle at the age of 13. He later changed his name to Chui, but his brilliance attracted the envy and spite of the hapless Mujung Ping, a thorough good-for-nothing. In late 369AD, Chui slipped out of the capital to get back to his power base. His departure was discovered and crack cavalry troops were sent in pursuit. Chui scattered his cavalry and hid their tracks, doubling back on his trail. History records that "suddenly they were surrounded by hundreds of mounted hunters. If Chui fought he could not win, if he retreated he had no path. He didn't know what to do. Just then all the hunters' eagles rose into the air, and the hunters galloped off in pursuit of game. Chui sacrificed a white horse to the heavens."
References to hunting with eagles are rare in Chinese literature. This is the earliest record I know of.

If you burn anything, the smoke blows right into your eyes; this is a rule of nature. However, there is a spell you can intone that will keep the smoke away from you. Would you like to know it? You bet! Okay, here we go, repeat after me: “There are a lot of mosquitoes, good thing there’s all this smoke to keep them away from me.” As soon as you say the magic words, the smoke will change directions and not blow your way. Try it, it works like a charm! or a spell, as the case may be.
