The
strategists in Beijing are delighted by President Trump’s air strike in Syria,
because like Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan, it’s much easier to get into than
out of; that’s exactly why Trump has been saying for years he’d never go into
Syria. Since January 20, Beijing has been expanding their influence in South
America, where people are offended by Trump’s comments about immigrants from
the south. Now they are working on Central America. They had Africa pretty well
sewn up years ago. President Trump alienated our strong allies, Australia, and
they are very receptive to Beijing now. Who will stand with the USA?
The
Chinese strategists are probably saying, Yes, good, keep busy with Syria! The
USA spent $94million to close the Al Shayrat airport for a few hours and kill
nine civilians (including four children). War is expensive, so for the Iraq
war, the USA went up to the eyebrows in debt to Beijing, but never mind, keep
fighting, keep borrowing, they’ll be happy to lend. If the USA can’t pay on its
debts, maybe they’ll just take Washington or Oregon. That’s what happened to
China in 1901, and you can be sure they remember that.
I like a good fight as much as anyone else,
but never forget: the US fights with our strong armies, the Chinese fight with
strategy, and they’ve been developing their strategies for thousands of years.
So I’m not real bubbly and bouncy about this.
